Alda Curtis is a PACFA Registered Certified Practising Counsellor, Psychotherapist, and qualified Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and couples experiencing complex trauma, mental health challenges, and significant life transitions. She holds a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of International Relations.

Alda is an approved counsellor with NSW Victims Services and provides counselling within Employee Assistance Program (EAP) settings. Her professional background spans community services, rehabilitation counselling, and mental health support, including extensive work with culturally diverse and marginalised populations such as refugees and asylum seekers.

Alda’s approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centred, with a strong emphasis on nervous system regulation and mind-body awareness. In her work with couples, she supports partners to improve communication, rebuild trust, and better understand relational patterns, while creating a safe and balanced space for both perspectives.

She incorporates evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, alongside mindfulness-based practices, grounding techniques, breathwork, and somatic approaches to support emotional regulation and processing of trauma. As an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP), Alda works from a neuroaffirming framework, supporting clients to better understand their experiences and develop practical, strengths-based strategies. Alda is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to develop insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
