Senior Speech & Language Pathologist

Bethany has over seven years of experience working with children who present with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Selective Mutism, Prader Willi Intellectual and Learning disabilities as well as children with general speech, language and literacy delays.

Bethany is a certified Hanen ‘More Than Words’ clinician and is trained in the ‘DIR Floortime’ therapy approach and Karen Stagnitti’s ‘Learn To Play’ therapy. Bethany enjoys regular professional development and has attended courses and workshops including ‘Traffic Jam in my Brain’ for children with sensory processing difficulties, ‘Key Word Sign’, written narrative construction and phonological awareness training.

She has also completed additional training and has extensive experience in trialing and implementing a variety of both high and low-tech Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems. Bethany also has several years of experience in mentoring and supervising more junior Speech Pathologists and has a passion for supporting other therapists to grow and flourish within their careers.

Bethany emphasises and encourages learning to play and communicate through functional, natural and engaging therapy activities. She offers a flexible, child and family centred therapy and is eager to provide early intervention in order for children and their families to achieve their goals.
