Johanna Chen

Johanna is a registered Psychologist, member of the Australian Psychological Society, and Board-approved supervisor with 20 years experience specialising in child and adolescent development, learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. Her expertise extends across diverse settings, including medical, research, community, K-12, and tertiary education.
With the aim of providing an inviting and safe space for families to share their experiences, Johanna uses evidence-informed, strengths-based, cognitive-behavioural, and solution-focused approaches to apply a variety of engaging activities tailored to assist young people to learn about themselves, discover what might help, and obtain support and confidence in developing skills and practising strategies together.
Services include assessment of intellectual functioning, academic achievement, behavioural and socio-emotional interventions, and management of mental health. Johanna also runs small group programs for Anxiety, social skills, and parenting. Common concerns include separation/school refusal, learning difficulties, underachievement, gifted/talented needs, symptoms of ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum traits, social/communication difficulties, selective mutism, grief and loss, Depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and emotional dysregulation.
